What will it take to stop you?

Folks,
I love this question:
What will it take to stop you?
Yes, there’s the bravado, and here it is: This weekend, I ran the 5K Parkrun with my nephew. It was a proud moment on several fronts. After more comebacks than Rocky, and having promised Rhys I would run with him since February of this year, we finally made it around in a respectable 27 minutes.
But there is also a more sobering, yet no less important, side of considering quitting. What will it take to stop you? If the answer is “not much,” perhaps you need to look elsewhere to find your Elvis.
What is clear, from the work I do, and the conversations I have with people working on what matters to them is this: we have no idea what it’s going to take until we get it done - and if we did we probably wouldn’t do it. But those of us who find a way have, by event, circumstance, or the people around us been pushed back into the fire - once again to go deeper, find more meaning, and come back with a better answer.
Until next week,
Simon
