Why am I surprised?

Folks,

If you told me that you had taken up yoga and that you now felt better for it, I wouldn’t be surprised. And yet, when I reintroduced a daily yoga practice, I was surprised at how good it made me feel. Wise after the fact - hindsight bias.

There is a lot to be said for letting someone else write your programs, design your schedule or decide what you have for tea on Tuesday once in a while.

I’m pleased to say that while I wait for my book to come back from the editor, I’ve written an Udemy course called “Break from the Mold; Lessons from Crafting a Coaching Manifesto.” I start creating the video lectures in the next few weeks. But, in a rush to complete it, I nearly committed an unforgivable sin: I lost sight of the controlling idea.

In case you are wondering, here is my controlling idea: In bringing forward our ideas, we learn a little bit more about ourselves and what it takes to coexist with the rest of the world.

And finally, a blog I wrote about consistency, after a coaching conversation with someone who’s tried everything to get fit, apart from one thing - consistently showing up for themselves. Not putting the kids first, or work, but putting the time in for themselves, even if it’s just 30 minutes each day.

I would say you are worth it, and I’ve no doubt you are, but that’s for you to decide.

I hope you have a great week.
