After I write this book, what’s next?

That question makes my stomach bounce. I don’t know! As a responsible adult, I feel like I should know, but I don’t. 

Maybe I’m not a responsible adult —that’s it!!

Or, just maybe, we are hard-wired to ask “What’s next?” when a better question might be “What are you working on now?”

If you watch kids engaged in play, all they are focused on is the now.
