The Door is Not The Problem

Folks,

Week One of the summer holidays is done. If you’re “working from home,” then we’ve got this! It reminds me of the U.S. Navy SEALs quote, “The only easy day was yesterday.” 🙂.

I got asked a question last week which made me think:

How was your consumption this week? (Media, Food, The People You Connected With).

Think about:

  • Media: Could be books, TV or Social Media

  • Food: Is the food you are consuming serving you or your emotions.

  • Friends: Who did you connect to this week?

As my old statistics lecturer used to say, “crap in, crap out.”

Full confession: I’m hitting the beers. Not my fault. It’s sunny, Lins is working Depot at the Castle, and UB40’s rider included beers and Doritos. They didn’t finish them, so I’m helping out. I don’t usually have beer in the fridge, and I can see why!!

It’s not too hard to see why the question landed with me!

Before I go, last week I also wrote a rant about a workforce development problem: The Linchpin Paradox. It’s about coaches, but I’m sure you have similar stories in your workplace. Gaping Void, explain it brilliantly here: The Door is Not The Problem.

“You say: Innovation lives here. But your processes scream: Play it safe.”

Have a great week,

Simon
