On a mission

Sep 30, 2024 7:02 pm

Folks,

Are we really on a mission, or are we just in practice?

We might think the mission is to run 5k, get a flat stomach, or return from a knee injury, but is it not just practice?

If you are organised to complete the task that’s a mission. However, if you are organised around the task, then that’s practice. The difference lies in the value of the task; if it holds value, you stick around. If not, you move on.

How many times do we complete a few mobility, stability, and strengthening exercises, see some improvement, and then think, that’s enough of that

“I’m on a mission, with no time to lose.”

The alternative is to think of what we do as practice:

“Where’s the value in what I am doing, and what can I carry forward?”

You might laugh but I’ve taken on a voice coach, and although I’m on a mission to improve the content I create, really it’s all practice.

Time to play the fool.

I’m going to leave you with a simple but powerful little phrase that might just change how you manage situations.

"I’ve noticed!"

Until next week,

Simon

P.S. I’m delighted to announce that Coach Camp, hosted at Sport Wales Cardiff, is back for a third time this year on the 26th Oct 2024. You can secure your ticket here

I would be grateful if you forwarded this link to grassroots coaches in the South Wales area who would appreciate the link.
