95% of adults over the age of 35 will never do this again… Ready Responder Friday

Hi all, let’s get into Ready Responder Friday,

On Sprinting

“95% of adults over the age of 35 will never sprint again for the rest of their lives.”

I keep seeing this ‘statistic’ on the internet, but I can’t find the origin. Which means it is probably BS… yet,

I still can’t shake the thought!

The biggest takeaway I can think of is this. If you continue to sprint, you will inherently be in the top 5%.

My recommendation is to start with short bursts of about 10 yards, and build up over time.

And NEVER, ever, skip your warmup.

I still have a couple of years (literally) before 35, but I plan to keep this in mind. Expect to see sprints and pushups combined in this week’s Training Recaps!

Simplicity in Training

“Live Your Life In Couplets & Triplets, Go Heavy At Least Once a Week & Every Now and Then… Go Long! If You Do That, You’ll Be On a Great Path!” - Greg Glassman

This is preached at the CrossFit Level 1 seminar. I love how simple the idea is for programming. Don’t get bogged down in having too many movements. too much gear.

- 2 or 3 movements is plenty for a good workout.

- Move Heavy loads once a week.

- Go long to test your endurance every once and awhile.

Follow this prescription and you will see results.

Thanks for reading. I'll see you next week for Ready Responder Friday.

Stay Safe. Stay Ready.
