The Jacarandas are in full bloom! The variety of Jacarandas is on full display in CDMX. I love the purple cover in Balboa Park and throughout San Diego, but the vibrant hues of Mexico City are something worth seeing in person.
Did you know that this capital city's landscape was inspired by Washington D.C.'s cherry blossom tree-lined streets? Cherry trees didn't take well at high altitudes and warm weather so it was decided that jacarandas would give a similar look and feel to Paseo de la Reforma as seen around the National Mall in D.C. - it's truly stunning. National Sibling Day was on April 10th, and while chatting with my sibling, she shared updates about my nephews and their sibling dynamics [Always adorbs]
I quickly geeked out about my recent NPR find. Consider This' episode on How Sibling Bonds Shape Our Lives. The nine-minute podcast episode goes into what researchers are finding about the impact of relationships with siblings βfor better or worse β and how important it can be.
The episode highlights a Latino family's dynamic, it also describes the importance of sibling relations, especially in black and Latino families. Listen on Spotify.

This week in other stuff, I've planned a little birthday fun for my husband's special day coming up tomorrow Saturday, April 13th. Planning birthday shenanigans in Mexico City was quite simple compared to planning a destination wedding or the ongoing Baja Wine Tour remote work in SD. However, this satisfied my event planning needs, and thanks to my friend Jake from Mannequin Vanity Records has inspired a new music + travel project. Stay tuned for more. Wink wink. π
As always THANK YOU for opening these emails and making it all the way through, I am truly grateful. I hope you enjoyed today's POCHO Stuff email see you next week!
