I'm not typically a car guy, but some vehicles make you do a double-take.

While walking the dogs, I took a picture of an UAZ Hunter, aka a "Russian Jeep." It's the second time I spot this off-road military light utilities vehicle in Mexico, the first being at my friend's neighborhood in Tijuana. The internet confirmed it's use by Soviet and other Warsaw Pact armed forces, as well as paramilitary units in Eastern Bloc countries since the 70's.

It's a hot one! This week USA Today named a San Digo ice cream shop as the top indi ice cream shop in America!

While my favorite independent creameries include Neider Frank's Ice Cream in National City and Mariposa in Normal Heights, the top honors according to USA Today readers go to An's Dry Cleaning for their innovative flavors. Congrats to An's Dry Cleaning, I look forward to trying em out this summer.
