PICTURE: 📸
I generally share a pic and simultaneously practice my photog skills; not this week! Ha.
I took a picture of a pan dulce from the local panaderia. I usually opt for a conchita but this tasty cupcake also stays in my rotation. 80% of New Year's resolutions fail during February, so forget your diet this weekend and visit your local Mexican (or any other) bakery! 🇲🇽✨
OPTIMISM: đź’–
A quote and reminder from the greatest footballer:
"You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it."

COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️
Sci-Fi, Social Commentary & a Dash of Pocho Vibes 🚀🎬
This week's at-home date night, consisted of a home-cooked meal and a cool find on the television: They Cloned Tyrone (2023) on Netflix.
Alright, this one’s a little weird, but They Cloned Tyrone is a must-watch! A sci-fi mystery wrapped in satire, it follows a trio uncovering a wild government conspiracy aimed at controlling Black communities—reminding us that the country would be better off with assimilation than annihilation (sound familiar, pochos?). With an all-star cast (John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx), sharp humor, and a trippy storyline, it’s a perfect Black History Month watch. Have you seent it, ? Lemme kno!
.
HOMEWORK: 📝
Family Movie Night: Watch a movie that highlights your cultural identity or look for one that maybe is outside of your culture but interests you and the fam alike—extra credit for sub-cultures and festival films. Lean into the assignment and discuss the storyline as a family to hear all the different points of view on the same flick. Shoot me a message if you want some recos.
OTHER STUFF: 📢
Tequila’s Wild Roots
Check out this mind-blowing IG vid that spills the tea—our Filipino cousins played a huge part in helping Mexicans invent tequila! From ancient trade routes to clever distilling techniques, it turns out our favorite agave spirit is a true multicultural masterpiece. Curious? Dive into the full story on Instagram and see how history gets distilled into every sip.
