This week instead of sharing a picture that I took, here is one that I received featuring two of my favorite humans. Check out my good friend Glenn posing with his newly acquired art from everyone's favorite (art) dealer, Alexander Salazar of SD Art Advisory. See more of his work and give him a follow on IG @artofalexandersalazar
OPTIMISM: π
Un quote for you today:
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." β Winston Churchill
A nice little reminder to always look for the possibilities and ask yourself and others: "What else is possible?" o "ΒΏque mas es posible?"β¨
COOL FIND: π΅π½ββοΈ
I found this article, "Linguists Speak Of A New Language Dialect Evolving In The US" on IFLScience. The piece discusses the emergence of a distinct new dialect in Miami, influenced by a blend of Spanish and English. This dialect evolution is attributed to the cultural intermingling between Spanish and English speakers, especially with a significant Hispanic and Latino population in Miami. Check out the article to read some of the unique expressions and phrases of this dialect and its significance in showcasing the dynamic nature of human languages.
HOMEWORK: π
Cultural Art Show: Encourage family members, especially kids, to create artwork that represents their bicultural identity. Host an art exhibit at home and discuss the significance of each piece. π¨β¨
This week's homework was inspired by the handful of artists-friends who reached out after last week's art-filled email with positive feedback about the POCHO Stuff email. You folks inspire me and I'm glad my work moves you too. Β‘Gracias!
OTHER STUFF: π’
January is almost over, how are your resolutions going, !? This week I wanted to GIVE YOU my super effective Daily Habit Tracker that has helped me stay true to the goals I set for myself. Make a copy of this spreadsheet and fill in your very own daily habits to work on each month. The tabs in the spreadsheet are split into self-care, work-specific, and relationship goals to track every day. Check out my short video on how to use the tracker and make 2024 the year of GREAT habits!
MUCHAS GRACIAS for for allowing my POCHO Stuff email in your inbox, I hope that you enjoyed this edition. The subscriber list grew this week and I'm truly grateful for that. See you next week!
