A Flash Back Friday to honor my leading ladies on this International Women's Day. Meet mi mamΓ‘ Alicia and hermana Lizette:

This picture is from our first-ever private Baja Wine Tour. My dive into entrepreneurship quickly went from owner-operator to product manager, spinning out new experiences and travel packages to satisfy the public, and these two (and many others) were nothing but supportive --my mom doesn't even drink! 🍷

OPTIMISM: πŸ’–

A quote to expand our view

β€œFeminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

– G.D. Anderson, Entrepreneur/Activist

COOL FIND: πŸ•΅πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Hometown Alert: My friends at Ocean Connectors are hosting a Family STEAM Day tomorrow Saturday, March 9th from 8:30 AM - 1 PM at Peper Park, in National City (west on the Mile of Cars Way exit).

imageYou and the familia can get your stretch on with Yoga at the Park, take a free kayak ride out to help clean the wetlands, become a Citizen Scientist and record real water quality data, and of course, grub on some delicious food options. There will also be fun participation prizes like tickets to the Fleet Science Center, Lego sets, and much more - go check it out for me and follow Ocean Connectors on Instagram for more.

HOMEWORK: πŸ“

Bicultural Fashion Show: Have a fashion show at home where family members showcase outfits that blend elements from both Mexican and American cultures (hello botas picudas!?). Strut your stuff and celebrate your unique style! πŸ‘—πŸ‘”

OTHER STUFF: πŸ“’

This may or may not be the first time you hear me plug Ocean Connectors, a conservation education organization of which I proudly serve on the advisory board. The binational nonprofit aims to educate, inspire, and connect youth in underserved Pacific coastal communities, like National City, through the study of migratory marine life. Sunday marks a big milestone as I head to Nayarit, Mexico for the first-ever Ocean Connectors Mexico fundraiser! While it might be too late for you to join me in person, it's not too late to donate to help expand conservation education efforts in Mexico. Please consider sending the third graders $25 for class materials, donate today!

As always THANK YOU for opening these emails and making it all the way through, I am truly grateful. I hope you enjoyed today's POCHO Stuff email see you next week!
