Hello ,
Chip away at it. Chip away. Slowly. Surely. It will keep moving.
Sometimes when I go to the gym, my instructor gives us a very long workout routine. I look at it and think, why am I doing this? This is too long. How am I ever going to get to the end?
And then he always says something that soothes my heart: “Slowly, chip away at it.”
That phrase — chip away at it — means don’t think about how long it will take or how overwhelming it looks. Just start. Take it one small piece at a time.
A lot of us have things we need to get done, myself included, and sometimes, just the thought of it all can feel daunting. This week, as I thought about my newsletter, I remember saying to my assistant, “I’m tired. I have nothing else to say. I have too much to do.”
And right in that moment, the phrase came to me again - Chip away at it.
Don’t think of everything at once. Slowly, but surely, start.
So, I picked up a sheet of paper and began writing. And as I wrote, the thoughts started to come together. That’s the thing… sometimes you won’t have all the answers, or even know exactly where to start. But if you know the first step, just begin.
That’s how I’ve done many things in my life. How I wrote my first book, how I started and finished my Confessions book for children, and how I continue to show up every week, one small step at a time.
Chip away at it.
A chip. A little at a time. Every single moment.
And before you know it, that daunting task you’ve been putting off will be done.
So this week, I want you to tell yourself:
✨ I will chip away at it.
✨ I will keep going.
✨ I will stay consistent and patient.
✨ I will not give up halfway through.
Because at the end of the day, you’ll look back and be thankful that you kept moving one step at a time.
Have a fantastic week ahead, and don’t forget to chip away at it.
Until next time,
Take care,
Olamidotun.
P.S.: Feel free to forward this to someone who needs a little reminder and encouragement.

Affirmation for the week
“I am taking steady, consistent
steps toward my goals.
I release the pressure to do it all at once
because progress is made one chip at a time.
I am not overwhelmed
I am becoming.
Every small effort I make is meaningful
and adds up to something greater
than I can see right now.
I trust God’s timing as I move
forward with patience and purpose.
I am walking in grace, not haste.
I am chipping away at it — slowly, surely,
and with God by my side.”
Word Of The Week
📖 Zechariah 4:10 NLT
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.)”
