Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my monstrous journey. If you know me in real life, you know Mr. Barr has a heart of gold and a reputation to match. The guy ushered a pediatric cancer drug to market which extends patients’ lives from months to decades. Between my upbringing and his greatness, I often feel like the monster in my marriage. It took a long time to unpack how I could dream of spice that was completely inappropriate (until I got married and everyone was harassing us for babies.) Writing female monsters is a type of therapy for me, and I love how many of you have enjoyed the stories—especially my pirate romances where the guys are tough pirates and their lady loves are a vampiress, a spider lady, and a kraken shifter.
Speaking of needing therapy… Allow me to introduce you to my first horror romance. Clutching Cthulhu’s Pearls is a Gilded Age, Lovecraftian story in the Time for Monsters series. This series is by some of the authors of the Monster Brides series but we are far from weddings. Each book travels through time to a love story of a male monster to his human female. Shiver Me Satyr, the sequel to Hooking Captain Teeth, will join the series this summer. But I’m getting ahead of myself! Clutching Cthulhu’s Pearls releases on 2/10/2025, but unedited chapters are on my Patreon now.

The witchy season always has me on the road. While you are reading this newsletter, I’m returning from Flirty in TN. I’ve got the bug loaded to the roof with books I bought from the other authors (I mean who can resist a signed Honey Phillips or Regine Abel book.) My next adventure is the Rebels & Readers Author Event in Huntington, WV. This book fair is all genres from romance to mystery to children’s books. I can’t reunite with those of you who visited me last year. General admission is $10, VIP is $40. Will you be there?

BOOK RECS!
A huge thank you to everyone who checked on me as Hurricane Helene blew through my forest. We had more flooding than usual (probably due to the development that ripped down a ton of trees on the opposite side of the forest as our land.) I was sad that the Madison KY Library Book Fest was canceled, even though I doubted the bug’s ability to drive through the wind and flooding to get there. The good news is the organizer assured me that she will reschedule it in the spring. This will give me time to produce even more new titles!
