Happy Christmas in July Strawberry Fans!
I have been having a blast celebrating Christmas in July on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/marilyn_barr_author/). On July 5th, paperback lovers got their Christmas wish and we have been partying ever since! Many of you joined my newsletter list with the free book, The Spy Who Was Out Cold, but have been waiting for The Spy Who Loved My Russian Tea Cakes to come out in paperback before reading the second half. I’m happy to announce that our spiritual spy is the first story in the Wild Rose Press Christmas Cookie Anthology Volume #1: A Pinch of Nutmeg.
My Walk the Plank fans are laughing so hard, that they may fall off the poop deck. Yes, nutmegs are pirate slang for ah hem…and a running gag in the Walk the Walk series, but I promise you this paperback release is no joke. I join Virginia Barlow and Marla White in the book. Do you remember when I reviewed their books on IG last winter? I loved them, so you are getting 3 hawt stories for one.
To help me celebrate, I joined two free book fairs full of Christmas stories. The first book fair has books of all genres and heat levels. The second is all romances from sweet to high heat and chock full of freebies. Get your stocking stuffed before these deals vanish (you know my pun is intended.)
Would it be Christmas without personalized gifts? I also have a free book fair of pirates, mermaids, and sirens for all me hearties. They had Christmas on the pirate ships in the 1700s, but they celebrated with cannon fire, fireworks, and shooting competitions! ARGH!
Now for my presents just for Strawberry fans! I have teamed up with my BFF Shirley Goldberg to bring you a free second chance Christmas story: "A Bar, Two Dates, and Reindeer Cookies." This story is usually exclusive to her newsletter subscribers, but we are inviting you to join in the fun. I am especially excited because I love Shirley’s books of mature heroes with relatable reactions to romantic twists – no dummies—and tons of second chances. You know how I love heroes who find their inner power while searching for love. SWOON! Grab this story before our party ends. I don’t want you to miss out!
Speaking of missing out, there was an error in my last newsletter. The link for Fated Binds went to the wrong book! Here is the correct link and I have confirmed with S.I. Hayes that it is still free for you. My apologies.
Big news! Dance to a Wylder Beat has won second place in the National Excellence in Story Telling Contest as well as the Imadjinn trophy for best PNR. While big brother Nartan is collecting hardware for his bear-shifter bride Olive, younger brother Ikshu is bursting onto the scene. In the last newsletter, I unveiled the stunning cover for Sound of a Wylder Silence (designed by Tina Lynn Stout who does all the Wylder West book covers.) For your Christmas in July present from Wylder, I have put the first two chapters of Sound of a Wylder Silence in our secret member’s only section of my website (Password = Rafaella.) The book doesn’t come out until 10/12/2022, but you have access to it now!
I hope you are having as much fun as I am at our Christmas in July party. With the heat over 90 degrees F every day in Strawberry, KY, I’ve enjoyed reading about snow, elves, and Christmas romance. Don’t forget to join me on IG where I review all the Christmas books, I read so you have a full kindle for this holiday season. Next month, I hope to have news about Strawberry Shifters Book 4: Rotten Apple. My editor at The Wild Rose Press has read it and declared Ryan’s story needs to be told—whether he turns out to be likable is another question. Why was he such a jerk in Go Scorch Yourself? He tells his side of the tale and I’m so excited to share it with you.
Last thing, I promise (this is why I write big books) – if you want to be an ARC reader for Sound of a Wylder Silence, reply to this email, and I will add you to my early distribution list. What is an ARC reader? Someone who reads a book before it is released to post their thoughts on the book the day it comes out. You would write 20+ words about the book and post it to 4 different links that I provide. Are you in? Let me know!
Blessed Be and Let Magic Find You,
Marilyn
