Dear Readers,
I'm so excited to offer a completed trilogy on Kindle Unlimited. The paranormal, historical trology, Walk the Walk, is the tale of blackmailed pirate Branko and Magda the Vampiress. I have loved writing their 1718-1721 friends-to-lovers story. Thank you to everyone who has read Book 1: Walk the Plank and Book 2: Walk the Deck. The third book, Walk the Night, releases today and it has everything you have come to love in a Marilyn Barr book - one-sided insta-love, spiritual healing (this time using Hoodoo), and a rollercoaster of emotions. What's unique about Walk the Night is that it is two books in one and sports 4 points of view. With Magda sick with yellow fever, she doesn't have the strength to narrate. Branko is worried sick about the fate of his crew, so he wasn't chatty either. So....I'm pleased to announce that you will get to know Leaf, the young cook who we picked up in Carolina in Walk the Plank. I just love this book and hope you will too.
Thank you to everyone who read the steamy novella, Dreamcatcher. The vampire romance reached #21 in it's Amazon category which is a record for me. I am so grateful to the readers who took a chance on my first erotic romance. I have studied Hawaiian Shamanism for over two years as an apprentice. I'm so honored to bring this healing modality to the mainstream through a romantic tale of love, loss, and reincarnation. Many of the themes in romance books break the tenants of Shamanism and I wanted to show how I reconcile the disconnect through Makaha. Dreamcatcher is $0.99 or free with KU subscription. If you read it, please consider leaving a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or Bookbub. Only 20 words are required and can be as simple as how hot Makaha is.
To celebrate Walk the Night, I am happy to bring you the Historical, Paranormal Romance fair. I fell in love with this genre mash-up when I wrote Dance to a Wylder Beat. (BTW, Ikshu's book is in scheduling so my June newsletter will have a release date!) In the book fair, you will find Bridgerton with fangs, Beauty & the Beast retellings, and Walk the Plank for $0.99 (or free with KU subscription.)
Dance to a Wylder Beat is a finalist for the RONE Award for best paranormal short by In’Dtale magazine. The category is huge and contains many other books from the Wild Rose Press. This week is the popular vote round and my bear-shifters of the Old West need your help. We need you to register with InD’tale magazine and vote for Dance to a Wylder Beat. Registration doesn’t cost anything and InD’tale will not send you spam emails. They must verify votes are nots or hackers, that’s all. To become a finalist, Dance to a Wylder Beat had to receive a 5+ star review by the magazine, and a Crowned Heart Award. Please consider voting for Dance to a Wylder Beat, so our Arapaho leather tanners make it to the final round.
Today's book recommendation is a FREE download of a historical, werewolf romance. I love this series so I'm excited to introduce it to you. Warning, Moonlight Haunting is a love triangle...but at the price of FREE, will you take the risk? You won't be disappointed...
Are you on TikTok? Well, I am too. So far I have dropped my phone recording my first video and burnt myself in the second. There's a reason I advertise that my feed is hilarious witch fails, LOL. Join the fun to listen to me read passages from the Walk the Night series, learn more about June's release - Go Scorch Yourself, and watch my fumbling witchy rituals.
Thank you so much for celebrating with me! I love connecting with readers and I'm excited to get to know you on TikTok. Do you have a favorite book or passage from my books that you want to hear me read on TikTok? Reply to this email and watch for the shoutout!
Blessed Be and Let Magic Find You,
Marilyn
