Hello ,
The holiday preparations are in full swing in Strawberry, KY, despite the unseasonable weather we are experiencing. Thank you to everyone who reached out after the devastating tornadoes which ripped across my state. The tornado was coming directly for me but dissolved about an hour's drive away. Luckily my family has a finished basement so we spent the night underground and my son slept through the entire ordeal. Since then, I have been feeding volunteers and victims baked pasta dishes daily. Most of you remember when I injured my spine last summer working out so clearing debris is outside of my bodily limits. However, like werewolf Rosie Paulino, I can feed a crowd! I load up my chafing dishes into my VX Beetle and set up just outside the caution tape.
Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered The Spy Who Loved My Russian Tea Cakes. The book was able break the top 100 holiday short-reads and sell more copies than the squeaky-clean romances of The Wild Rose Press's Christmas Cookie series. You helped me prove to them that a little steam is always welcome - even on Christmas! I hope you picked up your free deleted scene from our Member's Area on my website as I'm using the download numbers as ammo when my publisher tries to scrub my future books. In the words of philosopher Fred Durst, "I will do it all for the nookie!"
I also hope you have downloaded your copy of The Spy Who Was Out Cold, the free prequel to The Spy Who Loved My Russian Tea Cakes. I couldn't write a book about a man in a coma without explaining how he got from Siberia to Ohio. If you haven't received your copy or want a chance to win a $20 gift card, I invite you to the free holiday books book fair sponsored by BookCave.
If you liked Sergei and Katya's story in The Spy Who Was Out Cold, you will love the exciting conclusion in The Spy Who Loved My Russian Tea Cakes. Did you fall for Cassie like Sergei? If so, please leave a review on your favorite book review website. Retailers like Amazon give preferential treatment to books with more than 50 reviews, so your favorite authors are counting on you to help your favorite books be seen by readers. Speaking of being seen, here's a collection of book fairs where the books are less than $3 and hit on all my favorite reads- Christmas Romance, Paranormal Romance, and Steamy Fantasy Romance!
Besides rebuilding my community, I have big news on all book fronts. Dance to a Wylder Beat, my historical paranormal shifter western romance (say that 5X fast), is in audiobook production. Dawson McBride's smooth southern lilt is truly swoon-worthy. If you have listened to him narrate the other books in the series, you know what I'm talking about. Girly-sigh...
Strawberry Shifters Book 3: Go Scorch Yourself is with the copy editing staff at the Wild Rose Press for an early 2022 release. My first historical vampire pirate romance, Walk the Plank, is also scheduled for copy editing. If you love vampires, hold on to your garters. I will have five vampire romances releasing in 2022.The Walk the Walk trilogy will be my Kindle Unlimited debut and I couldn't be more excited. You will love Magda, Branko, and my gang of sexy scallywags.
We have shifters, cowboys, vampires, spies, and now pirates. What's next? How about alien romances? I have fallen in love with Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians. If you follow me on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/20256962.Marilyn_Barr), you know I read the first 22 books in 20 days, took a break to write Walk the Plank, and then read her 15 book spin-off series. Don't get me started on Tiffany Roberts Spider Alien Romance too. I absolutely love that trilogy. too My fingers are itching to write one... Let me know what you think! Reply to this email with your opinion on alien romance - strange or beam me up! I look forward to hearing from you.
Blessed Be this Yuletide season and let Magick find you,
Marilyn Barr
