Thank you to everyone who reached out this month on social media. I am alive. I am okay. I’m just buried under deadlines and trying to balance them with being a human. My not-so-little-gremlin is about to go through a ton of life changes, which is exciting for us, but for an anxious, autistic teenager, it’s horrifying. He takes his written driver’s test next week on his last day of 10^th grade. Do you remember the end of 10^th grade? Was it your first job? First dating relationship? First college visits? For him, all these are yes. He needs courage, time, patience, and most of all, his mom.

This is why Mr. Barr booked a surprise trip to Disneyland, California. Sweetest, most kind thing ever…if I wasn’t hurrying to finish Clutching Her Bird Twins’ Pearls (and working on a secret surprise for the whole series, shhh). So I buried my head in the Mickey-shaped treats and worked poolside, and ignored social media. I’m sorry to those who worried, but I’m fine. However, this is a warning that I will be vanishing again this summer to teach in-car driving. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was terrified.
