Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Soaring, Not Running

Isaiah 40:31 NIV

"[31] but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

As I get older, I can certainly appreciate the symbolism here. There are many days I need to walk and not be faint. Running, on the other hand, isn't happening here! But soaring on wings would most certainly be awesome.

This scripture is very encouraging as we hope in the Lord. We all certainly have experienced that great joy of soaring on wings and walking without exhaustion in our walk with the Lord. It is the promise we have that gives us the strength to move forward. And isn't it glorious! I thank God for the strength He has given us at Kingdom Builders. Together, with God guiding us, we have accomplished many projects. Without Him, it would not be possible. And without Him moving your hearts to support us, we could not serve our community like we do. We thank you!

We finished up another project for a woman in need. She has physical challenges that make it very difficult to climb stairs to her bathroom. So we took a room downstairs and designated it for a new bathroom. We also replaced her old, worn front door with a new insulated door and storm door. She is very thankful, and we are very happy to be able to serve her this way. Thank you, Lord!

We have many projects in our wheelhouse and, Lord willing, will be planning them for next year. Maybe we will run... naaaaa, we won't grow weary, but let's face it, running is out! Thank you for your prayers and support.

Mark 9:35

35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” As we see, in the words of Jesus, the highest rank we can attain is that of a servant. There is something special about serving others, especially those in need. Kingdom builders has this heart and their goal is to be able to do more for others in the future. We always covet your prayers for the time and resources to be able to serve those in need.

I think of the story in Mark 2 where four men removed part of a roof to get their friend, who was a paralytic, to Jesus for forgiveness and healing. What a great act of love for their friend. It was a desperate situation and they were determined to serve him, support him and bring him to Jesus. Jesus said in Mark 10:45 “for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” We are His church, carrying His heart and love to everyone we can. The Book of Ephesians challenges us to walk in love as Christ has loved us. The prayer of Kingdom Builders is that as we reach out and serve people that it would be a defining moment for them. A defining moment that would be an occasion or happening in their lives that would undeniably change their path; that they would receive Christ and begin to walk differently, think differently and the direction of their life would forever be changed.

Matthew 25:40 says:

40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ What a great privilege and honor it is to serve those in need. May God bless Kingdom Builders ministry in a special way and May He be glorified.
