Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

His Perfect Timing
Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
This verse came to mind as we have been trying to finish a project involving backfilling and carpentry that just didn't seem to come together. Attempts were made, talks were had, rains came and went, as did funds. Our timing just didn't work out.
Then it happened. The time seemed right, my little machine was available, and my heart was saying, "Let's do this!" So we went for it. As I proceeded to get things together, we found ourselves in need of topsoil. No problem, I thought; I'll get to "the place" and pick some up. Well… no. "The place" didn't have any. What?
So "the guy" suggested I check out another place, though he wasn't sure they'd have any either. So I went to check it out. As it turned out, this place was run by a fellow believer who was very curious about Kingdom Builders. We chatted. We talked about how good our God is, the various ways he serves, and what Kingdom Builders does. Praise God!
We were wrapping up our conversation and - BAM - he offered topsoil at half price and said he'd be happy to deliver it. WHAT? Praise God!
Do you suppose this was God's timing? Do you suppose our timing wasn't His so that I could meet this gentleman and share God's goodness? Well, I do - and I thank God for His perfect timing! Amen!! So I proceeded to backfill, seed, do siding repair, and build a step. Finished in God's timing!
Prayer Requests & Needs
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We are in need of board members - specifically a Secretary, Chair, Treasurer, Applicant Reviewer, and an IT person. Our current board members have been tirelessly serving for a while, and it's time. Time for new faces and new skills. (Maybe a baker - I do enjoy baked goods… ha!) So if you feel called to serve in this capacity, or know of someone who might be, please reach out to us, or give me a call at (607) 437-5681.
We also have many applicants in our wheelhouse and are in need of funding as well. We know God is on the move, and it is all in His timing.

Bearing Others' Burdens
Romans 15:1-3
1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. 3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”
In reading this passage addressed to the church at Rome, we see the call to bear the burdens of those who are in a powerless situation. As the church reaches out into the world with the gospel and its demonstration of love, it leads to edification and the building up of its neighbors. When I first heard of Kingdom Builders, I thought, I love the name of this ministry. It is a wonderful call for the people of God to come together and build together even as Christ has, for His Glory.
One of my mentors says “the kingdom of God is not about status, reward, or position. It is about representation. On earth, the church is not a political body or a social organization. It is a living manifestation of Christ in human form— The church conveying the life, love, and purpose of the King in to the world.” The more dark and confused this world becomes, the more important it is for the Christ-like reflection of the church to be seen. I believe we are called to reach the hurting, the hidden, and the hungry of this world with the gospel and His love. We join God in His mission by declaring and displaying the gospel of the Kingdom. In what we call the Lord’s prayer, Jesus invites his followers to pray in this way:
Matthew 6:9-13
9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
The thought of Jesus instructing us to pray in this manner is inviting us to become partners with Him and His will here on earth. It is a prayer of alignment with His kingdom coming to earth. Praying His kingdom to come, demands for His will to be done. It's not a prayer of ritual, but a prayer of believing heaven to invade earth. God uses His church to be a conduit of blessing to many in need. I know Andy's vision and heart for Kingdom Builders is to be a bridge extending over obstacles to reach people in need and remove barriers with the blessing of Kingdom principles. Jesus states in Luke 17:20-21 that the kingdom of God is within YOU! In a world that is broken, Christ's kingdom flows to and through believers who have been born again and transformed by the Holy Spirit. The Lord's Prayer is a call of engagement. The church is commissioned to make the reality of heaven known on the soil of the earth.
Kingdom Builders is a wonderful opportunity of ministry to do just that.

Praise:
Praise God for His perfect timing and faithful provision.
Praise God for opening opportunities to share His love and goodness with others.
Praise God for the generosity and servant-hearted people He brings alongside this ministry.
Praise God for allowing Kingdom Builders to bear the burdens of those in need.
Praise God for building His Kingdom through transformed lives and faithful believers.
Prayers:
Pray that God will raise up new board members with the skills and passion needed to serve Kingdom Builders.
Pray for strength, wisdom, and encouragement for our current board members and volunteers.
Pray for financial provision to meet the growing needs of the individuals and families we serve.
Pray that Kingdom Builders will continue to be a bridge of hope, removing barriers and demonstrating Christ's love.
Pray that God's Kingdom would come and His will would be done through every ministry opportunity, conversation, and act of service.
