Would you rather…?

Hello !
Okay, so I have a trove of would-you-rather questions. Maybe I'm secretly a dragon with my book hoard, questions hoard, and everything else. And I've got to ask, would you rather lose the ability to read or to speak?
This is a tough one for me. I couldn't write or revise my writing if I couldn't read. I couldn't do a lot of things if I couldn't read.
And, I'm not a big talker, although I do like to sing to the kids and myself. Singing helps keep things chill, I feel like. Also, I suppose the family and I would have to learn sign language to be able to tell the kiddos what I need and to ask for things.
Sign language is doable in my world. Going without books, not so much. Haha.
What about you? Reply and tell me if you'd rather lose the ability to talk or the ability to read?
I mean I guess audiobooks are a thing...
