Hey Magic Maven!

If you're curious about updates on the house, so far as I know, we're still looking at moving home this fall. If you're new around here, we had a major house-fire the last day of November. The official date in our contract is in October, though we will see how everything progresses.

On the one hand, I'm glad that the lead paint and asbestos are gone and that everything will be new. On the other hand, I am sad that the hard work we put into the house is also gone.

I can no longer point to the flooring in the bonus room, and tell the kids, your Poppa did that. Or the siding on the house and say, my Poppa did that. Or the electrical in the sunroom, your G-pa did that.

But we're getting high quality replacements for everything and we'll be able to say without a doubt — oh yeah, that was installed in 2025 for just about anything on the house.

And we're safe in a rental, walking to the park most days. For the most part, life is good. Though it's full of change.

I suppose this is the time for making magic, we're building strong memories, and teaching the kids that we can handle hard things and keep on going. But that it's okay to have big feelings and express them.
