BLOG: How to cut the cost of your overdraft
Most banks will now be charging around 40% interest on any overdrafts, making it one of the most expensive ways to borrow money! But there are ways to get that down to 0% - including a temporary three month £500 buffer all banks have to give you if you ask.
Here's more on that and the other ways to help you cut the cost and then clear it.
BLOG: Cinemas finally reopening: How to save money
With news that Christopher Nolan's new movie Tenet is actually going to open next Wednesday, it means most cinemas will actually be open again from this weekend.
If you feel up to getting back to the big screen then I've looked at some of the main ways you can spend less on tickets right now including 2-4-1 tickets.
BLOG: How do you cancel a Tastecard membership?
I'm a big fan of Tastecard, but if you stop using your membership it can be a bit of a pain to cancel before it auto-renews. Here's how to do it with just a few clicks.
PODCAST: Cash Chats #137: Fiverr (Side Hustle Spotlight) with guest Jordon Cox
This week on the podcast I've looked into a popular way to earn some extra money on the side - the freelance marketplace Fiverr. To do this I'm joined by money blogger Jordon Cox who's been using it for the last month and made hundreds of pounds.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.
Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a deals of the week video update on Friday.
1. Possible free £10 John Lewis discount
Until the 31st August John Lewis is offering people a code worth £10 to spend on anything from the home and garden departments. There's no minimum spend, though it's online only so delivery is only free if you spend £50 or more.
Though it worked for me, my wife and my mum, not everyone seems to be able to use it - it could be that you need to have signed up to the MyJohnLewis scheme (it's free), but it's well worth a go.
2. Tesco 25% off wine deal stack
Head to Tesco and buy six or more wines to save 25%. Plus you can combine this with other discounts. So for example, Villa Maria's Sauvignon Blanc is currently on offer at £7 (down from £9.50). With the 25% saving you'll pay £5.25!
You will need to factor in delivery charges if you can't visit a store in person.
3. Student bank accounts: 0% overdrafts & freebies
If you've got kids heading to university next month then make sure they're getting a student bank account that's going to offer them the best features for the duration of their course.
Here's my pick of 0% overdrafts, freebies and more that they can pick from.
4. £10 Google Mini speaker
Another John Lewis offer. This time spend £50 and you can also get a Google smart speaker for £10 rather than the RRP of £50. It can't be combined with the £10 discount above, but everyone should be able to get the deal.
5. Echo Dot for £21 (Prime) or £25
Or if you'd prefer an Echo speaker, and if you have Amazon Prime and haven't used Amazon Music Unlimited before you should be able to get this smart speaker and a two-month trial of the music service for £20.97. If you don't have Prime you can still get it, but for £4 more. Here's how.
