BLOG: How easy is it to price match at John Lewis & Partners?
I'm a big John Lewis fan, but over lockdown I've had a bit of difficulty getting a purchase price matched. It turns out you can't price match online or on the phone something you bought in a shop! And visa versa.
And that's not the only caveat in their "Never Knowingly Undersold" promise - something the department store is reviewing as it tries to balance the books.
Even so, it's a great way to save some cash - before and after you buy. Here's how it works and what to watch out for.
BLOG: Halifax £5 Rewards hack
When Halifax changed the way its Reward account worked in June I wasn't a fan of the spending or saving requirements to be eligible for the free fiver each month.
But reader Doogie got in touch to share a workaround that means you don't have to sacrifice rewards from the likes of Amex or Santander. Here's how it works and my thoughts on the account.
Plus check out the deals section below for news of a £100 bank switch bonus!
BLOG: Is Monzo in trouble?
Monzo fans were worried this week by news that the digital bank's losses doubled in the last year to £114 million. So does this mean it could go under? And what would that mean for your money?
Here's what you need to know that could put your mind at ease. Plus if you're a super-fan, the things you can do to help it survive.
BLOG: The best savings accounts
The base rate has been kept at 0.1% for the next month, but it's still possible to get as much as 2.75% on your savings. Here's my updated list of the best accounts for your cash savings.
PODCAST: Cash Chats #135: Going Self-employed
Following on from last week's episode on redundancy, this week on the podcast I'm looking at how you go about moving to self-employment - something more and more people will likely be considering.
To do this I'm joined by David Thomas to talk about what it means to go sole-trader, how long you might have to wait to get your first income and how to calculate tax.
There's also an exclusive extra chat over in the Facebook community, looking at work-life balance when you're your own boss.

Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a deals of the week video update on Friday.
1. £100 bank switch bonus at Halifax
The first bank switching bonus in five months started on Tuesday and runs until mid-September. You can get £100 for opening a Halifax Reward account (reviewed above) or the Halifax Ultimate Rewards.
You can even get this if you are already with Halifax - you just need to open a new account and switch from a different bank. Here's more on the conditions.
2. 30% cashback at Holland & Barrett
Today only you can get a massive 30% extra back when shopping at Holland & Barrett via Quidco. You can also take advantage of the penny sale currently running at H&B.
This follows other 24-hour deals with 25% off eBay and Boots at the weekend (make sure you follow me on social so you don't miss out on similar flash sales).
3. Iceland Bonus Card bonus
If you shop at Iceland then this month for every £20 you save to its prepaid "Bonus Card" will get you £2 extra rather than the usual £1. More here.
4. 25% off Sky Sports month pass
Though the football leagues have been decided there's still sport on Sky Sports and this offer gets you two months of the channels on NOW TV for £20 a month. Get the deal here.
5. Free 90-day Tastecard trial
If you've been taking advantage of Eat Out to Help Out it's worth checking out if you can save more with a Tastecard. There's a 90-day free trial available here.
