Your weekly money saving deals and news from money expert Andy Webb
My top content this week
BLOG: Starling Bank review
If you're fed up with your bank then it might be worth taking a look at Starling. Designed from day one to work as an app (there are no branches), there are lots of innovative features on the app that make it easier to track your spending and manage your card.
Here's my look at what it offers, and whether it can replace your high street bank account.
BLOG: Are automatic energy switching services any good?
I'm always saying how one of the easiest and biggest wins is to switch your energy, but still not everyone bothers. That's where auto-switching services come into play, taking most of the effort out of doing it.
And now there's a new player in town with Money Saving Expert launching its own service. Here's my take on whether they're better than doing it yourself, and which one is best.
BLOG: The best business cashback credit cards
Last week American Express launched two new business credit cards which offered up to 2% back at Amazon and 0.5% elsewhere.
I've taken a look at whether they are worth applying for if you run your own business, and rounded up some of the alternatives.
PODCAST: Cash Chats #144 Are you really making a saving?
Just because you got a discount it doesn't mean you're better off. This week on the podcast I talk with Timi Merriman-Johnson (aka Mr Money Jar) about
the special offers that make us think we're saving money but are really making us worse off.
You can listen via all the normal podcasting routes or over on the blog.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the titles or links for more information.
Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a "deals of the week" video update on Friday.
1. More Prime Day early offers
Amazon Prime Day takes place next Tuesday and Wednesday (yes two days). I'll be updating my deals page with the best offers, and helping you spot the good from the bad over on my Instagram. But before hand it's worth checking out these posts.
There are more discount codes and offers that expire before Prime Day. They include two new ways to get £5 off. One requires you to use the Amazon app, another to get something delivered to a click and collect location. That's on top of the promotions I shared last week.
Plus even if you don't have Prime there's a new way to get £10 back if you make your Mastercard a default payment card.
A lot of the Prime Day deals will be short-lived "Lightning Deals". You need to make sure you're not getting caught in the hype but if there's something you want these tricks can help you nab them before they run out.
2. £10 or £5 off at John Lewis
If you're a member of the free MyJohnLewis scheme then there are new codes that give £5 off a £70 spend and £10 off a £120 spend at John Lewis.
Sadly these have replaced codes offering double the discount. If you got one of these in the post from JL then it's worth checking to see if they'll honour the original offer.
3. Will Aid bookings open
If you've not got a will there are two opportunities to get cheap or free ones made. There's Free Wills Month for over 55s in October and Will Aid for all (in return for a charity donation) in November. You can book now.
4. Netflix 50% off offer
Netflix has brought back a new user offer. It's either two months for the price of one or 50% off two months (so essentially the same thing).
5. 10% off iTunes cards
I don't see many iTunes discounts nowadays, but you can currently save 10% on e-gift cards of £25 or more if you're an Amazon Prime member.
6. "Free" chocolate bar from Co-op
If you join Co-op's membership scheme (it's £1) you can claim a free bar of Fairtrade chocolate from the Co-op app.
