BLOG: Green Homes Grant - how to get up to £10k
This new scheme to help households make green home improvements opened for applications yesterday, and you could get up to £10,000 from the government to fund things like insulation.
But it's not quite as simple as ask and you will get. And most homeowners will need to put some of their own cash towards the work. Here's more on how it works, and how to get one.
BLOG: Is Amazon Prime Day any good?
Amazon's big birthday sale was postponed from it's normal July date and will now take place in two weeks on the 13th and 14th October (yes, that's right two days...).
It's only for Prime members, and it's easy to get caught up in these sales thinking you'll be able to get bargains. But can you? I've looked at how it works and some of the purchases I've made over the last few years to see if you should bother.
BLOG: Which cashback site is best?
One of my favourite ways to make a little extra cash with minimal effort is the cashback site. You shop, but you get paid money back by the retailer.
But which one should you use? I've taken a look at TopCashback, Quidco, Boom25 and OhMyDosh to help you decide.
You'll find more of these infographics over on my Instagram.
PODCAST: Cash Chats #143: The rules of the side hustle
This week on the podcast it's another Side Hustle Spotlight. I've been joined by blogger Laura from Thrifty London to look at the basic rules you need to consider before starting your own money making project, and we also talk about "print-on-demand" to create and sell your own range of t-shirts, mugs, cards and more.
You can listen via all the normal podcasting routes or over on the blog.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the titles or links for more information.
Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a" deals of the week" video update on Friday.
1. Prime Day early offers
Though we're still 12 days away from Prime Day there are early offers now live. These include a way to get £5 off a £25 spend and £10 back when you spend £10 with a small shop.
2. £10 or £20 off at the Entertainer
This could be a good chance to get early Christmas presents with a £10 off £60 spend and £20 off £100 spend on toys at The Entertainer this weekend.
3. New Kindle book savings
The start of a new month means there are new free books to grab for your Kindle, plus there are a couple of offers for Prime members including £5 credit when you spend £15 and a three month free trial of Kindle Unlimited.
4. LAST CHANCE: 6 months Spotify for £10
If you're new to Spotify Premium (or set up a new account), you can get six months for free with a qualifying purchase at Currys. Obviously it's best if you buy something you want, but there's a £10 computer game gift card you can buy as a workaround. It ends Sunday.
5. New Chromecast & Netflix bundle
Google has just revealed a new model of it's media streaming stick and there's a launch bundle where you'll get the Chromecast (worth £59.99) and Netflix credit (worth £53.94) for £89.99. Here's more on how the offer works, plus a discount on the now discontinued Chromecast Ultra.
6. 25% off everything at Habitat
Another big weekend sale is at home and furniture shop Habitat where you can save 25% on everything.
7. More items added to Tesco and Iceland sales
If you're near a Tesco or Iceland you might want to check out the latest additions to their respective sales. At Tesco you need a Clubcard to get the reduced prices.
8. Free pint this weekend
A new app is giving away free pints this weekend at pubs across the country.
