Your weekly money saving deals and news from money expert Andy Webb
My top articles this week
1. Save money on the motorway
You don't need me to tell you that you'll pay a premium for petrol, food and drink if you buy it from a motorway service station. But it is possible to avoid, or at least reduce, these mark-ups, including websites that'll tell you alternative locations a short distance off each junction (which is handy too if you've got a passenger desperate for the loo and it's ages until the next official stop!). Here's my guide on a few tricks that'll save you cash on your journey.
2. Lessons from getting a new kitchen fitted
Listeners to my podcast will know we've had builders in this year, including fitting a new kitchen. It's largely gone well - and I've shared what we did to bring down the cost of things like appliances - but there are also a few major things we'd have done differently.
3. Cash hack: Cheap cinema tickets with £1 Tastecard Plus trial
I'll always share in the deals section of the blog when I spot decent cinema ticket offer, but if you want something that'll save you money every day of the week at all the major cinema chains, then it's worth considering Tastecard Plus. In this article I've shared how much tickets will cost you at Odeon, Vue, Cineworld, Showcase, Picturehouse, Empire and The Light via the membership, and how to get a three-month trial for £1.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.
1. Ten month Sky Sports pass on NOW TV for £199 / £149
With the Premier League kicking off this Friday, NOW TV is offering a 10-month pass to watch all the Sky Sports channels for £199. That's a really decent deal if you are going to watch a lot of football and other sports as a standard monthly charge is £33.99.
And you can potentially save even more. There's a further 25% off if you have a Natwest Rewards account, bringing the price down to £149.25. Plus cashback sites offer a little extra back too. I've updated all the details on these and other NOW TV sports pass deals
2. £10 Amazon voucher when you switch energy provider
Don't let the announcement this week that the energy cap is being lowered make you complacent about energy prices. You'll still save more money by switching (and probably fixing too). It's easy to do this yourself, but if you really can't be bothered, then the auto-switching service Look After My Bills (it's been on Dragons Den) is offering a £10 Amazon voucher for people who sign up and switch. You can sign up now even if you aren't due to end on a fixed deal for months.
3. Free Santander bike hire
Today (Thursday 8th August) is national Ride Your Bike to Work Day. If you're in London you can nab a free Santander Cycle hire with a code.
4. Get a free £125 John Lewis gift card (with huge spend)
You need to spend £1,000 on fashion or home at John Lewis to get this deal, but if there is something you are planning on buying (such as a sofa) then this is the time to do it. MyJohnLewis members will get £125 back, and if you haven't signed up you'll get £100. There are also selected electronics in the offer.
5. £15 Fleabag lottery
The app TodayTix is starting a ticket lottery next Monday to give you the chance to buy £15 tickets to the sold-out West End run of Phoebe Waller-Briggs brilliant Fleabag show. Here's how you can enter.
