My top articles this week

1. How much will a specialist travel spending card save you?

With the pound falling even further against the dollar and euro it's increasingly expensive to go abroad - making any trick to bring down the cost welcome. One I often write about is getting a specialist debit or credit card such as Monzo, Starling or Tandem to use on holiday. But just how much money can one of these actually save you? I've crunched the numbers to help you decide if it's worth it or not.

2. Have you still got any old round pound coins?

There are 145 million old pound coins still out there! I've had a look at what you can do if you find one (or an old fiver or tenner), and a highlighted a few places you might have forgotten to look.

3. How to go to live football matches for less

The Championship starts on Friday, and the Premier League kicks-off in a week. If you want to go see a live match rather than just watch it on TV, I've shared 11 ways you can bring down the price.

The top deals this week

I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.

1. Two Vue tickets for £9.49

There's a new offer over on Livingsocial that'll get you cinema tickets for under a fiver. Obviously do check the ticket price at your local first as some will be not much more anyway. But many will charge a fair whack more, so this is a great saving.

2. Free £10 or £5 Argos vouchers with spend

If you spend £50 or £100 at Argos this week you'll get a free voucher to spend back in store.

3. Habitat 20% off flash sale

From 9am Thursday until midnight on Sunday there's a code to save 20% on everything at Habitat, including items in clearance which are already reduced by as much as 50% or 60%.

4. Free pint, G&T or soft drink at pubs

National Pub Fortnight ends this Sunday, and until then you can nab a free drink at hundreds of participating pubs. You'll need to choose a pub and drink on your phone, and then present it at the participating pub.

5. Family discount offers

With the school holidays well underway it's a good opportunity to snap up a £1 trial of services such as Kids Pass or Little Bird. These and other memberships get you discounts into all sorts of attractions and money off kids meals.

6. Theatre savings for kids throughout August

Discounted shows taking part in the annual Kids Week sale (which actually runs for the full month) start today. Though tickets have been on sale since June there are still plenty available.
