Hey team!
We're coming into the final stretch of Awakening's launch, and I'm so excited! I've already received great feedback from some of you, and I couldn't be more thankful for the time and effort you've put into helping! ๐
With only two weeks left until launch day, now is a great time to start thinking about what kind of review you want to leave. Ratings and reviews are one of the most powerful ways you can help Awakening. The more ratings and reviews it receives, the farther those mysterious algorithms will share itโwhich means more readers like you see what this story is all about. It truly is in your hands!
But what on earth do you even put in a review? When do you review? I always get hung up on this... and I know how hard it can be to start. So here are some quick tips to help you out! (You can also find these on the Launch Hub.)
When can I post reviews?
Reviews on Amazon will open on launch day, October 21st. However, most other sites allow reviews at any time.
For example, you could post your review on Goodreads before launch day (and claim your Twin-Scroll Chronicler quest entries!), then simply copy it to Amazon once itโs available.
Do I have to review on all platforms?
No! While Amazon and Goodreads are the most popular locations, there are plenty of other places readers look for reviews. Other great options are BookBub, StoryGraph, Barnes & Nobleโฆ anywhere you would go as a reader to see what others think about the book.
What should I include in a review?
Great question! Keep these points in mind as you draft your review:
- Be honest and authentic. Share what you loved, what intrigued you, and what resonated with you. If something didnโt work for you, itโs okay to mention that respectfully.
- Aim for 2-4 paragraphs. This could include a brief (spoiler-free) summary of the storyโs themes, what stood out (characters, worldbuilding, pacing, etc.), your favorite moment, or who you think would enjoy the book.
- Avoid spoilers. Help future readers enjoy every twist and turn! Use your judgment and be vague where you can or, at the least, warn readers before you spill something. ๐
Our next pre-launch promo goes live tomorrow!
I took a little inspiration from a brief scene later in the book for this one, which ended up working pretty well for the month of October. (At least, that's my hope, haha.)
If you're looking to earn some more giveaway entries, don't forget to work this into what you're sharing this week, or help spread my posts going live tomorrow (10/7) on Facebook, Instagram, and X!
I appreciate each of you! Have a great week!
