But. . .How?

Sep 13, 2020 10:01 am

Dear ,

I am sitting at my desk looking out the window. It’s green and yellow today, sunny and cool.

It’s hazy, orange, reddish, and dark somewhere else. Close.

I hope you are paying attention…

I say to myself.

I have been taking time for reflection, leaving the earbuds behind on my walks, and keeping my phone in my hip pack. I have noticed how great I have become at multitasking, and though I am a badass, I am not sure if that is really serving me.

I am just a few days in from eliminating the pile up on even the sweetest of tasks (work slacking, video screening, answering emails, reading a book, listening to a podcast, and studying a new language all while taking a walk or tending to the garden? Come on.) and I feel better.

When I simplify and slow down I actually get more done and feel better about myself and all that I am or am not choosing to accomplish.

I had the lovely opportunity of saying hello to a group of teacher trainees yesterday (congrats guys!) who are completing their training this weekend. This opportunity really did bring me back to my early training days, 18 years old and peering out the window into the world, wondering, so curiously, “But… how will I show up?”

I turn 36 at the end of this month and I am still asking that question, the question itself leading me to some cool and sometimes uncomfortable places these days.

So this week, I share this question with you, “How will you show up?”

Just take a moment to breathe with that.

. . .

And as your friend, your mate, I will add this simple big-tip-sweet-suggestion: show up.

I hope this love letter and and today’s free featured video will help guide you or inspire you to do what is sometimes the most difficult part, which is simplifying, peeling back the layers, and just showing up.

Yoga for Sensitive Knees

Here is what we have on deck this week:

NEW! Yoga P.E. Series!

This is a new free 3 video series that will release Mon, Wed, Fri this week. These will live on YouTube and the FWFG APP. You will find it on the free SEPTEMBER Yoga Calendar as well! It is designed for younger yogis, teachers, facilitators, virtual learners, and parents. But also pretty fun for the big kids too. Wink. Wink.

On the FWFG App this week, my conditioning series continues in the FWFG TRAIN category. Last week we released 10 Min Core, this week - get ready for 10 Min Upper Body. These are videos to supplement your practice and they are guaranteed to bring more strength, stability, and tone. Get some.

Also, on Friday 9/18, I am teaching a live zoom class with 1000 virtual mats. Yes, you read that right.

This virtual live class supports my local studio Practice Yoga Austin, and is sure to be a lot of fun. Join the waitlist for this session HERE. (And stay tuned for our October live session!)

I am showing up for some new things in my life, and noticing that when I slow down I stay closer to me, and to what feels true for me

If you get stuck, take some time to get on the mat, or choose something else that puts you in a position where you can consciously choose to align with the highest possible outcome.

I wish you a beautiful week.

Yours,

Adriene
