Two Pockets for the Internet:

Rabbi Simcha Bunim of Peshischa taught that every person should have have two pockets, with note in each. In one pocket, “the universe was created for me,” and in the other pocket, “I am mere dust and ashes.”

There are two teachings, in Hayom Yom, the daily collection of aphorisms and thoughts compiled by the Rebbe, that I think are a must for the Internet:

In one pocket:

“Keep away - to the ultimate degree - from a campaign of attack. Not because we lack the means of prevailing or because of timorousness, but because we must consecrate all our strength exclusively to strengthening our own structure, the edifice of Torah and mitzvot performed in holiness and purity”.¹

In the other:

“We are "day workers." Day means light. Our work is to illuminate, to enlighten the world with the light of the Torah…”²
