The Chai Times // Here I Am. What are we celebrating?

Feb 13, 2026 8:10 pm

Dear ,

There are times when the call goes out, when a need arises and the question becomes - who will step up to accept the burden of responsibiity?

When G-d called to Adam, to Abraham, to Moses and made a call to action they stepped forward and said the memorable word "Hineni - Here I Am".

On March 8th we will be celebrating this communities collective stepping forward -

  • stepping forward in participation
  • stepping forward in philantropy
  • stepping forward in leadership

We have an incredible community in YJP and we want to celebrate it!

Join us for the YJP Hineini Gala, a night dedicated entirely to the vibrant, excited, and unstoppable Young Jewish community of Austin.

On this night we are also celebrating the relization of a dream:

For years, we have dreamed of a permanent center—a place to gather, to connect, and to call our own. That dream is now a reality.

There are moments that define a community—milestones that shift us from "growing" to thriving. This is one of those moments.

We are coming together to celebrate the completion of the purchase and renovation of the Chai House. The dust has settled, the doors are open, and we have secured a permanent Jewish home in the heart of downtown Austin.

This night is for the people who fill that home with life. It is for the friendships formed at happy hours, the connections made over Shabbat dinners, and the energy that makes this group so unique.

And to the future of that community - to the new freindships and relationships that are coming ahead of us.

Come raise a glass to what we have built together. Let's celebrate the power of us stepping forward and saying "Here I Am"

We can't wait to celebrate with you.
