Hi there,

Yes its another Jewish holiday, you may or may not have heard of it.

Its called Lag BaOmer - the 33rd (in hebrew letters and numbers are the same -Lamed is 30 and Gimmel 3 = Lag - 33) day of the Omer count.

We are celebrating two episodes: the day a mass pandemic that killed 24,000 students of Rabbi Akivah ended. And the day the author of the Zohar, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, passed away.

The theme of the day ties together these two episodes.

Lag BOmer is about the spiritual soul (energy) inside each of us and in every object we interact with. Kabbalah reveals this hidden world to us and gives us a peek behind the mystical curtain.

The Talmud explains that Rabbi Akiva's students died because they disrespected each other. Simply put - they didn't feel the depth of spirit towards each other which inevitably led to their inability to respect each other.

Wishing you an uplifting Shabbat,

Rabbi Mendy & Mussy
