The Chai Times // Circle of Forgiveness

Dear friend,

The Hebrew word for forgiveness, mechilah, is related to the word for “circle,” machol. As long as we withhold forgiveness – from ourselves, from others, from loved ones, from G-d – we are incomplete. Our circle is completed, we are whole, when we let go of the pain of the past.

Before forgiveness, the past hounds us, encroaches on our happiness in the present and the prospects of the future. But a circle has no beginning or end. When we forgive, we collapse time, the past has no hold on us.

Let go = be complete.

Wishing you a gmar chasima tova, l'shana tova u'metukah - May you and yours be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year!

Wishing you an uplifting Shabbat,

Rabbi Mendy & Mussy
