Hi there,

July and August where exciting months for us with international travel.

We are headed off to Phnom Penh, Qingdao and Manila for around 19 days. Travel can be exciting, but it can also be stressful with all the planning that goes along with it. Getting visas, working out what luggage to take, getting to the airport and more.

looking forward to seeing the nightly light show in Qingdao

Maybe the biggest challenge was the weather. Coming from an Australian winter here in Victoria where the days were around 10 degrees we hit Cambodia where the weather was in the 30's and in China it was in the 40's.

Travel in China

We were happy to be reunited with our daughter Willow, who has been living in China now for over 1 year. This was our third trip to China within the last 12 months. We really enjoy visiting China, which is an amazing country with fantastic attractions and modern infrastructure.

I truly think China is misunderstood and western media has a tainted image of the country. In my opinion, China is just about making China better. All we hear is China is the big bad enemy. Western countries it seems have a problem with China being more advanced than they are, and they perceive that as a threat.

New Power Banks

China has just imposed a safety standard on power banks that must be met if you want to take them on domestic flights in China. We certainly witnessed a number of people having their power banks confiscated at Shanghai Airport.
