- And what about you, Momma? Have you wished you could memorize, but find it hard to find time? That's what I thought too, until I kept stumbling upon new ways to work memory work into my already crazy day. You can listen through a recent audio blog I shared over on the Humility and Doxolgy podcast, here. The podcast is only 10 minutes, but can I just tell you? It is so. so. helpful to have even a few short passages of scripture memorized. Just today I was feeling stressed and could feel my nerves begin to tighten. I escaped to the bathroom for a moment, and began reciting a recently memorized passage before the Lord. In just seconds, my heart began to calm. I could literally feel my body relax as I lifted my eyes to him and began remembering what was really true. Sometimes the idea of memorizing seems overwhelming... but what about just a few verses? A simple Psalm or a short passage? Give it a try using some of the methods I mentioned (or teach me a new one!)... I think you'll be blessed at all the ways the Lord uses even a few verses to meet you in the oddest of moments.
