Limb-It-Less Together is back for a second year, and we’d love YOU to be part of it!
Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital-Bradford and Cornell Orthotics & Prosthetics are teaming up again this year for an incredible day of connection, education, and inspiration! Our event will showcase our interdisciplinary “One Stop Clinic,” unique to the area, that allows patients to have ALL their needs addressed in one convenient location.
Our fun day will also give the limb loss community access to new technology, community activities, expert presentations, as well as food, music and raffles.
Service Spotlight | Ventilator Weaning
At Whittier we guide our patients through the ventilator-weaning process to provide the best possible outcome for them.
At Whittier, we approach weaning as a team. Our goal is to stabilize our patients during the vent weaning process so that they have better outcomes upon discharge from the hospital. For patients who may need additional therapy upon discharge from our LTAC unit, our network offers a transition to one of our in-house acute rehabilitation units, or our transitional care units.
New Aphasia Resource | Whittier Westborough
Whittier is pleased to announce that we now have a weekly Aphasia group!
The emotional support of navigating Aphasia with other people who have the same diagnosis will be beneficial, and being near others who understand will allow growth in a safe environment. Our Aphasia group meets on Thursdays at 1 pm for one hour, and runs for eight week sessions. Click the button below for more information.
Below: an example of a phrase that a person with Aphasia might say is "book book two table," for "There are two books on the table."
