Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...
SHINE: "Equipped to Shine"
In Shine: Week 2, Pastor Jared tackled one of the biggest fears many believers have—sharing their faith. Evangelism often feels overwhelming, like an impossible IKEA project with no instructions. But Jesus never intended for us to do it alone. Through Acts 1:8, we see that God gives us power through the Holy Spirit to overcome fear, recognize divine moments, and boldly step out in faith. Sharing the gospel isn’t about having the perfect words; it’s about being available. One invitation could change someone’s eternity!
Weekly Bible Study List

- John 1:46 (NIV) – "Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip."
The Sunday Outline & Notes
In Week 2 of the Shine series, we dive into a topic that makes many believers nervous—evangelism. Sharing our faith often feels like assembling an IKEA bookshelf without instructions—complicated, overwhelming, and impossible. But in Acts 1:8, Jesus makes it clear: we are not left to figure this out on our own.
Point #1: The Holy Spirit Gives Us Power to Overcome Fear
Fear is the biggest reason we hesitate to share our faith.
- What if I say the wrong thing?
- What if they reject me?
- What if I don’t know enough?
But Acts 1:8 reminds us that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we receive power—not just a little encouragement, but dynamite power to overcome fear. When we step out in faith, God meets us there and gives us confidence.
Point #2: The Holy Spirit Prepares Us for Divine Moments
God is constantly setting up opportunities for us to share our faith—we just have to be available. Many times, we miss these moments because we’re too distracted. But when we tune in to the Holy Spirit, we start seeing people not as interruptions but as invitations.
Point #3: The Holy Spirit Gives Us Boldness to Speak
Sharing your faith isn’t about having the perfect words—it’s about being willing. Jesus reassured His disciples in Matthew 10:19-20 that the Holy Spirit would give them the words to say. People don’t need a theological argument; they need a real, honest conversation about Jesus.

3 Practical Steps for Sharing Your Faith
- Start with Prayer – Evangelism begins in the secret place. Pray for open doors.
- Start with Your Friends – Your mission field is where God has already placed you.
- Start with an Invitation – Like Philip said in John 1:46, "Come and see." A simple invitation could change someone’s life.
Let’s step out in faith, knowing that the Holy Spirit equips us to shine.
