Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great week. The 2nd Halloween game is officially over. Congratulations to Robert and Katy! I also decided to offer an extra little mystery prize to Laura for being the first person to guess all four of the gems in the picture. Don't forget to email me so I know which prize you want and where to send it. Life update, I got an interview for a project management job, so fingers crossed. I also may have hyper-fixated on flipping consoles and Gameboy games on eBay. That lasted all of a few days before I realized my all-or-nothing brain wouldn't allow me to casually do this, but I got a cool Gameboy color out of it that has pikachu and pichu on it.
Here's a reminder of the prizes for the giveaway winners.
Prizes:
- a signed copy of "Amy's Rebellion"
- I will make earrings or a necklace for you. Just give me the animal or gem you'd like in the necklace. Let me know if you have any sensitivities to any fabrics or metals. If you're not into jewelry, you can have an e-copy of any of the books I currently have available instead (apart from Vella stories).
On the writing front, I started drafting the second book in the Gemstone Massacre series and I finally edited the first five chapters of that love triangle story, so it's ready for readers. Woo. I'll send a second email tomorrow so you can sign up if you're interested.
My writing advice of the week for you is don't let someone's harsh words keep you from doing what you love (assuming it doesn't hurt anyone). Believe it or not, I gave up writing for a while because an ex-friend kept saying my writing sucked and that hers was better. I'm only half-joking when I say I'm fueled by spite when it comes to achieving my goals.
That's all I've got for you this week. I just have one more question for you.
Anyone else celebrating a holiday this month?
I'm personally celebrating Chanukah at the end of the month, and I'm excited, but also not sure how I'll balance the holiday with Nanowrimo. I guess I'll have to try to get more words done before the holiday starts.
Have a great day and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Julia
