Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great week. This week I tried out for a shiny new writing job and I might have bought myself one of those Fujifilm cameras that print the photos out right after you take them. And they finally finished fixing my car, so I got that back yay. Other than that I don't have much in the way of life updates since I've been living in my writing cave, but that didn't stop me from buying more stuff on shopping goodwill because I have a problem. Oh and I may have accidentally thrown out my credit card, so I had to order a new one. Oops? One more thing. If you haven't read Amy's Rebellion and want to do so for FREE, Hidden Gems is doing a review promotion starting on the 17th. If you read and leave a review, you can get both "War of the Twin Swords" and "Amy's Rebellion" for free. Oh, and my audiobook for "Amy's Rebellion" got pushed back. It's going to be recorded and hopefully ready in February.
On the writing front, I've gotten about 18,000 words of the next Gemstone Massacre book done. So far there has been a high-speed chase, Magic Council crackdowns, and mage hideouts getting raided. This one focuses more on Dusk and Amy with a few chapters here and there on how Iris is doing. I'm having a ton of fun writing about the plant mage forest and a few of the new shifter characters.
My writing advice of the week is to set your goals small especially if you're like me and have all or nothing thinking. If you tell yourself you're sitting down to write 50 words instead of let's say 500 words you're probably going to be a lot more likely to get started. I also like to use 4thewords as an added incentive because you get rewards for writing and beating monsters. It's a lifesaver as a writer with ADHD.
That's all I've got for you this week. I just have one more question for you.
What goodies should I make for the holidays?
I'm thinking of doing some handmade goodies as rewards for some of you awesome people. Let me know if you have any ideas. These won't necessarily be connected to a game. Or maybe I could do a book fairy thing for a few people for anyone willing to share their Amazon wishlist. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Have a great day and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Julia

This is a free YA short with Magic, Gods, Priests, and soldiers. Sounds like a fun read to me.
