Hi everyone,

I hope you had an awesome week. This week, I had a bit of an insurance mix-up, so I have to switch some doctor's around as my new insurance won't cover it because U.S. problems. But, I did have a lot of fun at my friend's pre-wedding get together. They're getting married on Sunday. Oh, and I finally started doing some of the first edits of my very very rough draft for book 3 of the Nymph's Revenge series. I'm hoping to publish that one by the end of this year alongside another short story about Amy's childhood for the Gemstone Massacre series.

On the writing front, I did a 180 this week. I got a new episode of "Snow's Captive." Chapter 9 for Poisoned by Love's Bite isn't ready yet because this steamy chapter is a whopping 3.8k words, but I will hopefully be sending out beta copies for it this coming week!

My writer's behind the scenes for this week is about not being afraid to try new things. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to do serialized/chapter by chapter stories at first. I wondered if it would be for me or if it would be a time and money sink that I struggled with as a discovery writer. Low and behold, these have been a ton of fun to write and both my most popular and most profitable stories. I know it's generally taboo to talk money, but my autistic butt doesn't care. I think it's cool information for anyone who wants to publish.

So, my books, the full length ones, made about $200 for the year total. And none of that was profit, but for the Kindle Vella program, Amazon is doing a bonus system. For just the month of December, I made about $270 and it was almost all profit since I made the covers myself. Oddly enough the LGBTQIA+ vampire/werewolf love triangle and Snow White retelling did the best of all my stories and books. I still love my books and plan to keep writing them of course, but this was a cool experiment and a nice little bit of cash for trying something new.

That's all I've got for you this week.

What's a risk you took that paid off?

Apart from my writing risk, I'd say probably moving to Japan or maybe hang-gliding. I still haven't been brave enough to try skydiving...yet.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Julia
