How I Personally Travel in Germany

Hi Again ,

Most travelers coming to Germany want to see as much as they possibly can. This often means bouncing around from one hotel to the next night after night.

So, as always, let's just get straight to it. Where are some places that are absolutely PERFECT for calling a "Home Base" and then doing day trips here in Germany?

Now, maybe I'm just getting old (I'm not THAT old!) or maybe with kids in tow nowadays, picking up the laundry that they inevitably immediately threw all over the hotel room floor day after day after day on a trip just sounds exhausting.

That's why I personally love finding a place that I can call "Home Base" for a few days as we travel around (I do this really wherever in the world we are exploring). And luckily for us, there are some fantastic places here in Germany that we've hunkered down at for a few nights and then used the following days to enjoy the region thoroughly.

Doing day trips is an amazing way to:

  • Stay in one place longer
  • Do more "Off the beaten path" locations
  • Slow down a bit

I'd love to hear from you. Would you rather pick 2 or 3 places during your trip and then do day trips are you ok with moving around everyday? (This answer helps me create more great itineraries that YOU'LL find useful!)

As always, I'm always adding new lists like these to the WanderInGermany Blog, so be sure you are checking back there regularly to see what new goodies and day trip options I've conjured up!

Bis Zum Nächsten Mal (until next time),

LeAnna
