Motivation is a Myth

Hey ,
Do you remember watching that inspiring video that made you want to change your life? But then, after just 2 days, you lost all inspiration and things went back to normal, and you didn't take any meaningful action? That's what I want to talk about today.
Motivation is a myth. It's a feeling that's fleeting and nothing more. It can get you to do things in the moment, but once it wears off, that's it! It doesn't get you to continue or be consistent. No one ever became great by doing something once or twice and then backing off. Do you know what does get you to be consistent? Discipline.
Discipline is a b*tch. (Pardon my language please.) While people often commend my discipline and work ethic, the truth is that it's a never-ending battle. I refer to discipline as a "b*tch" because it almost always subdues my self-will. However, there are times when my self-will prevails, and I go for days without being productive. But luckily, I snap out of it once I notice a cloud of doom hovering.
So, what is my point here? If you have been relying on motivation to move you towards achieving your goals and you’re still stuck, well, now you know why. It’s because motivation has no purpose other than making you feel good. Swap motivation for discipline and watch the magic unravel.
Here’s another popular myth: “Discipline is hard.”
Discipline is actually not hard. It only appears to be because, like I said, it’s a b*tch, and likes to pretend to be tough. There are simple secrets to mastering discipline. — Or at least to maintaining it for up to a week at a stretch. 😑 Because who’re we kidding? Only mathematics teachers are masters of discipline. Talk more about that in my next letter.
Until then, try to stay motivated. LOL
