And... I broke my big toe

Hello from Wales
Hi,
I hope you are all keeping well.
After the lucky break I mentioned in my last email with managing to avoid the sewage dump at the beach, I had a stroke of bad luck and broke my big toe. I was shopping at Ikea (note to self: this is a warehouse type environment and not one suitable for open toe sandals) and a member of staff knocked a metal bar off the self-service till area and onto my foot. On the plus side, work have said I can work from home for the next couple of weeks. On the downside, my toe is gross, and the nail has detached from the nail bed. I'm just waiting for it to fall off. The Internet reliably informs me that it takes 12-18 months to grow a new nail back, so that's something to look forward to. That's a broken finger and toe so far this year and nothing in the entire 46 years before that! Hopefully, I'm done breaking things.
In other non-book related news, I got my mum and dad a new dog. Their Rosie passed away during the 2020 lockdown and they had been too broken-hearted to get another one.
They finally expressed that they were ready to look and wanted the companionship. I searched and found Frankie. He's 2.5 years old and as sweet as pie. He only arrived with them yesterday, but is settling in well and stealing their chairs every opportunity he gets.
He's so cute!!! I can't wait to introduce him to Sky.
It's also Jennifer's first day back to school today, and although she's only been gone 3 hours, I already find myself wishing it was still the summer holidays and she was home.
Writing wise, things are going well with the final Eira Snow story and in my next email in 2 weeks, I hope to be confirming the release for the end of the month.
In the meantime, as always I have some book fairs and great books by fellow authors to check out below.
