Writer Vella Munn, Introducing herself and making an offer.

First, welcome to everyone who took a chance on winning a stack of romances via BookSweeps and signed up to receive newsletters from a number of writers. I’m one of those writers.

I participated in the contest so I could hopefully reach some new-to-me readers. For the record, I'm usually sane, obey most traffic laws, and do nearly everything my two rescue dogs insist on.

You might not know who I am so here are the high points. I'm a widow with two grown sons and five grandchildren I dearly love.

I'm a career writer with over 150 published books. The majority are romances plus a bunch of erotica I write under a pen name. I’m most proud of the ten Native American historicals that focus on the people who lived in harmony with the physical world, cherished their spiritual beliefs, and fought for survival. I did tons of research and when possible visited where the different tribes lived and sometimes still do. (Don't let me get started on the negative impact of white settlers)

Right now I'm placing four of those historicals in a series called Soul Survivor. The term says a great deal to me. I hope you feel the same way. To celebrate the project, I'm offering Seminole Song for .99 via the online booksellers (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, etc) I'm including the stunning new cover.

Although I live on the west coast I chose the Seminoles to write about because my sister-in-law lives in Florida. I was able to take the flight and an air boat ride through the Everglades off my taxes. Seminole Song takes place before, during, and after the Civil war. My heroine Calida is an escaped slave while my hero Panther is a war chief. If you're looking for a light and fluffy read this isn’t the one for you, but if you want a complex story about desperate and determined people, you’ll get it.

That isn’t all. I placed another Soul Survivor story, Spirit of the Eagle in an exciting contest that offers 30 historical fiction books valued at $550. March 13 is the last day to enter. Spirit of the Eagle focuses on the Modoc Indians of northern California (within an easy drive from where I live) during their war with settlers and the Army. Luash, my heroine, will do everything she can to protect her people while army advisor Jed has good reason to hate those who nearly killed him. The Modocs survived a brutal winter by hiding in lava beds that are now a national monument. Somehow the two enemies break past their hearts’ barriers and find love.

I've taken up enough of your time for now, but I'll be back soon. :):

P.S. I'm on Facebook as Vella Munn and have a Vella-Munn website in need of updating.
