British Fantasy Awards and other sundry news

Hello All,
I hope you are keeping well. It's June 15 and here in the northern hemisphere school year's are ending, cottages and patios are open, vacations are booked, and summer is fast approaching.
I will be away on vacation from July 1 to July 8 as I visit lovely Prince Edward Island. Any book orders and correspondence will have to wait until my return.
Publication wise, my anthology of all-Canadian dark and weird fiction, Northern Nights, will publish on Oct. 1. We'll have a Toronto launch on Sept. 21 at Little Ghosts Books at 1 pm. More details soon. I'll put the book up for pre-order upon my return from vacation.
I've just finished edits on issue 9 of Weird Horror. It's an amazing issue, and should be out in September.
Cover art is Odilon Redon. Design by Vince Haig. You can subscribe and get issue 8 right now and issue 9 will follow shortly.
The British Fantasy Awards are now open for voting, for two weeks, until June 29. You can vote if you are a member of the British Fantasy Society or a 2023 or 2024 FantasyCon attendee.
We would be delighted if you considered voting for Undertow Publications in the Independent Press category, and Weird Horror magazine in the Periodical Category.
In the Collection category Jackal, Jackal, and No One Will Come Back for Us are eligible. Jackal, Jackal, just received a Shirley Jackson Award nomination, and No One Will Come Back for Us just won the Alberta Literary Award. Go Tobi and Premee!
In the Short Story category all the stories from issues 6 & 7 of Weird Horror are eligible. I can't really pick favourites, I truly love them all, but I do feel that Stephanie Feldman's "Getaway" and Kristiana Willsey's "In One Ear and Out the Other" deserved more attention. (The lament of every editor/publisher, I know.)
In the Artist category please consider our fantastic cover artists Asya Yordanova, James Hutton, and Vince Haig.

Warm regards,
