Howdy ,
One of the trending conversations on social media this past week has been #horriblebosses.
Several people have been calling out bad behaving bosses.
Why am I bringing this up?
Well, it's to remind you of the power of the difference you bring to the workplace.
After over 2 decades in the professional workplace and leading different teams, I understand the pressure that the workplace brings.
This can become more challenging as you grow up the ladder.
Not everyone has the internal strength to keep their emotions healthy, treat others right while carrying the pressure.
But you are different.
You have the mind of Christ. The question is "what are you doing with it?"
We all need constant regular inner healing in our walk with Jesus. Unhealed hearts have a way of spreading the hurt around to the people close to them.
And you don't have to be a boss to do that.
Some years back when I was the head of a department in an asset management firm, a team member who had been moved to lead another team told me this later on.
"I didn't understand the sort of pressure you go through. I would see you go into meetings where I knew you were been given deadlines. But you would come out and calmly address the team on what we needed to do. Now that I lead a team, I am just realizing the pressure you were shielding the rest of the team from."
Hmm...I didn't see it as shielding them from the pressure. My job as the leader was to filter the emotions and keep the team on the direction. And also keep a healthy emotional work environment.
I learned early to take the pressure moments and seasons to God.
My devotional life is where I constantly get inner healing and take the edge off the pressure I feel at work.
God has made Himself available for that to all of us.
Are you taking advantage of this?
This weekend, try to get some inner healing during your devotional time with God.
As always
Keep Multiplying what you have been given by God in life.
