Faith & Life Lessons – June 9, 2024

image

Welcome to the June 9th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week

No matter how fast you may want to go, there are times God introduces bumps along the way that tell you one thing - slow down.

I had to slow down the marketing of my book during the week because of a couple of bumps.

Instead of becoming agitated, I reminded myself - this is a marathon, not a sprint.

The sales target I want to achieve cannot be reached by a single growth sprout.

I will get there by constantly working the lines - slow and steady.

I bet I will have these sorts of bumps over the next few months.

Yes, I set 6 months for the sales target I am pushing for.

Honestly, I am glad I am doing this book stuff at this stage of my emotional maturity.

I have the frame of mind to repaint the picture that situations and circumstances are trying to create on my canvas.

I have all I need to achieve all that God has set out for me.

I will not fight God when He slows down the movement.

I will wait and then run when He starts the race again.

Things I Learnt

1 - Don’t Fret the Small Stuff: I had a coaching call with one of my clients during the week. We had her quarterly workshop session.

During the session, she did a review of the progress she had made over the last 9 months working with me.

No, it wasn’t a guesswork session, we went through a playbook.

Apart from the other things she mentioned, one thing stood out.

She had learned how to not fret the small stuff.

During one of our earlier sessions, I had taken her through a process of reviewing her activities and relationships using the 80:20 rule.

Don’t let the 80% drama distract you from the 20% real stuff.

According to her, this had been very effective for her. It reduced the emotional strain she was usually putting herself under in the past.

The less the emotional drama, the better she was able to show up for work & life.

Don’t fret the small stuff.

2 - The Future has Opportunities: I am already planning for the second half of the year.

I have my goals mapped out and I’ll be breaking it into Q3 goals in the new week.

The conclusion I get from it is this - no matter how difficult things are in the present, the future is filled with opportunities.

Yes, I am setting goals based on the opportunities I see in the future, not the challenges of today.

It’s beautiful to see the endless possibilities that the future brings.

I am excited about how the rest of 2024 will unfold.

A great year it will be for me.

Postscript

May the beautiful possibilities the future will bring inspire you to do more in the present. Amen
