Christmas Reads & Greetings from Tracy

Hi
In the run-up to the festive period, I came down with the flu, and it took its sweet time shifting. Thankfully, I’m feeling loads better today. I hope you’re well, enjoying the season, and avoiding any nasty viruses in your neck of the woods.
Are you making any New Year’s resolutions? If you are, I hope they’re fun ones. Last year, after writing zero books the year before, I set myself a goal of at least four… and somehow ended up with six. Hard work, yes, but also ridiculously fun because the ideas just kept coming.
The first three books in my UK-based cozy mystery are available now.
The stories are all centred around a rather eccentric woman named Beatrice, a sixty-eight-year-old Jane Austen super-fan. Beatrice loves the Regency period so much that she’s always dressed in period costume. While restoring a rambling old country manor, she hosts special events to raise money. Each book features a fresh mystery to solve and a new love interest. They’re easy, cosy reads, perfect for relaxing and switching off.
The second series is a cozy mystery set in America, and these three books are a collaboration between me and my good friend Joel Crofoot.
Stains of Deception
A blood-stained shirt. A whisper in the dryers. Margie never expected her quiet laundromat to hide a killer.
Conspiracy, Clues, & Cobwebs
Falling leaves, flickering lanterns—and a tangled web of lies. Margie and Chief Samuel are in deeper than ever.
Murder at Bramblewick House
As Christmas approaches, snow falls on secrets long forgotten. Inside Bramblewick House, a single clue could unravel everything Margie thought she knew.
A White Christmas in Berrycombe is currently on offer for a few days at $0.99/£0.99. A small-town, Christian romance with a whirlwind of festive magic and mistletoe!
'I really enjoyed the story's mix of heartfelt moments and references to real-world circumstances, giving it a sense of relevance. It’s a feel-good book that leaves you with a renewed sense of hope and faith. I highly recommend it, especially for the Christmas season, and I’ll definitely be gifting it to friends and family.' A book I enjoyed reading recently.
I picked up The Secret Christmas Library because I wanted something cosy, festive, and easy to sink into, and it absolutely delivered that warm ‘curl up under a blanket’ feeling I was hoping for. ★★★★★
Jenny Colgan created a setting I absolutely fell in love with. From the moment Mirren stepped into the ‘special’ carriage to Scotland—I was hooked. The whole book has that tender Christmas glow where even the stressful moments feel softened around the edges. I flew through it because it’s the kind of story that keeps you turning pages for the vibes as much as the plot.
What I liked most was how it leans into the idea that books and libraries are more than just shelves; they’re places where people get a second chance to relax. It’s sweet without being syrupy, and it has just enough heart and humour to keep it feeling light.
There’s no dramatic drama or big twists; it’s simply a book to curl up with and enjoy. I think I would have preferred a slightly less ‘realistic’ ending, because in Christmas stories I’m looking for magic more than realism. Still, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one and would definitely read more by this author.
If you love festive romances, small-community charm, and bookish stories that make you smile, this one’s a lovely choice.
For those who don’t like it, I would give a warning and mention that there are a few swear words in here, but not many and in appropriate places.
Rating: 5 stars — witty banter, romance, and a setting I completely fell in love with.
