Hello again!

Yes, it's true! Somehow, after what felt like an eternity of dilly-dally, I finished the first stage of editing for 'Elvish Rebels'!

The first stage was all the big picture, plot-and-character stuff. The major changes. Even though this might turn out to be the longest book I've ever written, it was somehow one of the quickest ones to edit.

The main problem is that it feels suspiciously quick. Almost ... too easy. There's a little paranoid voice at the back of my head saying, 'Psst ... are you sure you fixed everything?? Are you sure there aren't any MASSIVE gaping plot holes??'

I suppose that since I've been doing this writing thing for a while, it should make sense that I'm not always writing messy garbage that needs to be completely re-written from scratch. I certainly did put a lot of planning into this story before I started writing it. It makes sense that I didn't have to spend six months editing it ... right? And yet, the little voice continues to nag.

I am hereby ordering that paranoid little voice to shut up. I need peace and quiet to finish the line-by-line editing, after which I'll be able to send copies out to beta readers. I am fortunate enough to have a number of regular beta readers, and I trust them all completely. If that paranoid little voice in the back of my head turns out to be right, and there somehow ARE massive gaping plot holes, I'm sure my amazing, eagle-eyed beta readers will spot them.

With that, I will return to diligently hunting down typos and inconsistencies. Hopefully, the next time you hear from me will be the announcement that beta reader copies are available. Exciting!

In the meantime, there are books down there. Look! Read them, maybe. You never know where the next great read will come from!
