Are You On Autopilot?

Well Hello ,
This was a trick question. Science has proven that all of us have more than 80% of our daily activities driven by unconscious behaviors.
You see, our brains are highly efficient and will automate as much as it possibly can to free us up to replay that conversation we had two weeks ago or replay the lyrics of our favorite song from two decades ago. (As a random, non-specific example that absolutely has nothing to do with me...)
We don't have to think about breathing, thankfully. Or brushing our teeth, or washing the dishes. Even the places we drive most often end up more an autopilot situation than something that requires much of our cognitive processing, right?
This is a wonderful thing... BUT!!
Have you ever thought about who's doing the programing on that autopilot?
It's our belief systems. Those thought patterns we develop which tell us about what the world is and isn't, what's possible for us and what isn't.
This becomes a problem when our beliefs do not support the life we consciously want for ourselves.
It doesn't matter how many podcasts we listen to or books we read or seminars we attend. If deep down we don't believe we're very worthy, than we're never going to have the:
- Home
- Relationship
- Job
- Weight loss
- Health
- Financial security
- Any of the things!
It's like getting in the car expecting to arrive at the magical world of Disney, when the GPS is programed for the dump.
That GPS doesn't know to question you. The autopilot isn't going to second guess it's programing.
So it's up to us to spend some time really digging into that operating system of our beliefs and evaluate what we're feeding the autopilot of our lives. It's time to get back in the driver's seat to get things back on course, wouldn't you say?
Otherwise, we're doomed to a life of sameness.
